REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive complementary therapy based on the theory that specific reflex points on the feet, lower legs, hands, face and ears correspond with different areas of the body. By applying gentle pressure to these reflex points, reflexology aims to encourage deep relaxation, help calm the nervous system and support your overall wellbeing.

Many people choose reflexology as a way to slow down, switch off from the outside world and create some much-needed time for themselves.

HOW CAN REFLEXOLOGY SUPPORT YOU?

Everyone experiences reflexology differently. Some clients come because they feel stressed, overwhelmed or find it difficult to switch off, while others enjoy reflexology as part of their regular self-care routine.

Reflexology may help to:

-
Encourage deep relaxation and reduce stress
-
Support better sleep
-
Ease feelings of tension in the body
-
Promote a sense of balance and wellbeing
-
Support emotional wellbeing and mental clarity

Many clients describe their treatment as deeply calming, often leaving a session feeling lighter, more settled and more connected to themselves.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy that works alongside conventional medical care. Reflexologists do not diagnose, treat or cure medical conditions, but reflexology can provide a supportive space to encourage relaxation, self-care and overall wellbeing.

IS REFLEXOLOGY SUITABLE FOR ME?

Reflexology is suitable for most people and every treatment is adapted to your individual needs.
Some clients choose reflexology alongside ongoing health conditions or during times when they are navigating changes in their health. Others simply enjoy having dedicated time to pause, reset and take care of themselves.

Reflexology works alongside conventional medical care and should not be used as a replacement for medical advice or treatment. Reflexologists do not diagnose or claim to cure medical conditions. In some situations, such as during certain medical treatments, appropriate medical consent may be required.
If you’re unsure whether reflexology is right for you, please feel free to get in touch before booking. I’m always happy to talk things through.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A TREATMENT?

Your first appointment begins with a consultation, where we’ll discuss your health history, how you’re feeling and what you’d like from your session. All information is treated with complete confidentiality.

For your treatment, you simply need to remove your shoes and socks. You’ll then settle back comfortably while I use my thumbs, fingers and knuckles to work specific reflex points on your feet. Some areas may feel slightly tender, but reflexology is generally a deeply relaxing experience. Many clients drift into a quiet, restful state during their treatment.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY TREATMENT?

Everyone responds differently to reflexology. Many people feel calmer, more relaxed and more grounded afterwards.

Some people notice temporary changes afterwards, you may feel like taking things a little slower for the rest of the day, so if possible, allow yourself some quiet time to enjoy your treatment. Drinking water and listening to your body can help you make the most of your session.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE REFLEXOLOGY?

There is no set rule — it depends on you, your individual needs and what feels right for your lifestyle.
A single treatment can be a wonderful opportunity to relax and unwind, but many clients find that regular reflexology provides ongoing support as part of their wellbeing routine.
If you’re coming with a specific focus in mind, you may choose to have treatments weekly or fortnightly for a period of time, before moving to monthly sessions as part of your ongoing self-care.
REFLEXOLOGY DURING PREGNANCY

Pregnancy and childbirth are a special time, bringing both physical and emotional change.
Reflexology is safe to receive before trying for a baby, while trying to conceive, during medical tests and treatments, throughout pregnancy and into the postnatal period. These can all be times when having the support of a reflexologist and some dedicated time to relax can feel invaluable.

Reflexology provides a nurturing space where you can fully switch off, take time for yourself and focus on both yourself and your baby during this special stage of life.

I’m fully trained to adapt each treatment to the stage of your journey, from conception through pregnancy and beyond, with your comfort, safety and individual needs always the priority.

AURICULAR ACUPUNCTURE

Auricular acupuncture is a complementary therapy that uses very fine, sterile needles placed at specific points on the outer ear.

The ear is viewed as a microsystem of the body, with different points believed to relate to different areas of physical and emotional wellbeing. By stimulating these points, auricular acupuncture aims to encourage relaxation, help calm the nervous system and support your body’s natural ability to restore balance. Many people find it helps them feel calmer, more grounded and better able to cope with the stresses of everyday life.

I trained in auricular acupuncture with the Jennifer Young Training School and offer treatments using the internationally recognised NADA protocol, alongside additional auricular acupuncture techniques to support emotional wellbeing, pain management and to support autistic people and people with ADHD.

THE NADA PROTOCOL

The NADA protocol is a gentle five-point ear acupuncture treatment used worldwide in community settings, including mental health and addiction recovery services. It has been used in community support initiatives following traumatic events, offering a gentle approach to help people find moments of calm and grounding during challenging times.

Designed to encourage relaxation, reduce stress and support emotional wellbeing, the NADA protocol can be a valuable complementary therapy for people experiencing a wide range of life challenges.

Many clients find the treatment deeply relaxing and leave feeling calmer and more grounded.

HOW CAN AURICULAR ACUPUNCTURE SUPPORT YOU?

Everyone experiences auricular acupuncture differently. Some people choose it as a standalone treatment, while others combine it with reflexology or massage for a deeper sense of relaxation and support.

Auricular acupuncture may help to:

-
Encourage deep relaxation and reduce stress
-
Support emotional wellbeing during times of anxiety or low mood
-
Help you feel more grounded and balanced
-
Support better sleep and restfulness
-
Ease physical tension and support natural pain management
-
Provide supportive care alongside personal journeys, including recovery and smoking cessation support
-
Support individuals living with long-term health conditions as part of their wider wellbeing routine.
As with all complementary therapies, auricular acupuncture is intended to support wellbeing and should not replace medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A TREATMENT?

Your session begins with a short consultation where we’ll discuss your wellbeing, any areas you would like support with and what you hope to get from your treatment.

Fine, sterile needles are then gently placed at selected points on the ear. You’ll be given time to relax quietly during your session, allowing your body and nervous system the opportunity to settle.

Many people find auricular acupuncture a calming and relaxing experience, with time to pause away from the busyness of everyday life.

DOES ARURICULAR ACUPUNCTURE HURT?

Many people expect auricular acupuncture to be painful, but are pleasantly surprised that it feels much less uncomfortable than they imagined. The needles used are extremely fine and are much thinner than those used for injections or blood tests.

Most clients feel little more than a brief sensation as the needle is placed. Once the needles are in position, you may not feel them at all. Everyone experiences treatments differently, so I always work at your pace and make sure you feel comfortable throughout your session.

ADDITIONAL TRAINING

Alongside the NADA protocol, I have completed further training in auricular acupuncture to support emotional wellbeing, low mood, anxiety and pain management, as well as supporting autistic people and people with ADHD.

My own personal experiences have also helped shape my understanding of the importance of creating a calm, supportive and adaptable space for every individual.
This allows me to tailor treatments in a gentle and person-centred way, ensuring each session is adapted to your needs.
